The National Federation Party has called on Government to extend the deadline by another seven months for completion of digital registration of all businesses, sole traders and all local and foreign companies.
NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad said the deadline should be extended to 31st July, 2021. He said many businesses, particularly sole traders have informed him of the prolonged and cumbersome process they have to go through in registering their businesses on the digital platform.
The deadline ends tomorrow (31st December).
“The process is not easy or simple as it is made it out to be. Many business owners have told me they have already registered all their details but there has been no response about confirming their registration”.
“Many who want to register are told to come to the office to verify their details. This is ridiculous and totally unnecessary”.
“Business owners are worried because of the time and unnecessary delays”.
“It is clear that when the digital registration was launched, government didn’t clearly outline the work required by businesses in completing the process”.
“The extension is necessary to enable business owners to understand and complete the process and we once again call on government to extend the deadline until 31st July, 2021”.
