We offer the best hope for Fiji

12 June 2022

The People’s Alliance – National Federation Party post-election coalition offers the best and most viable alternative to rid Fiji of the two-men rule of Fiji First that has treated Fiji like their own personal property for more than 15 years since the military coup of December 2006, said National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad.

Professor Prasad said political scholar Professor Steven Ratuva was absolutely correct that Fiji First will struggle to win the general elections or even come close to forming a government on its own, given its rapidly growing unpopularity.

The NFP Leader said the People’s Alliance-NFP were working closely together pre-election to ensure they “hit the ground running in government” after the elections in conformity to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties on 8th April, which is based on the important principle of putting people first.

“The MOU also provides the opportunity for other opposition parties who make the 5% threshold for seats in parliament to join both parties in a post-election government provided they agree to be totally committed to the principles of the MOU that upholds national interest at all times”.

“The PA-NFP is not a hastily cobbled up partnership of warring political parties. We are not in this together for political expediency. We are firmly committed to making Fiji once again a land of hope and opportunity for all our people”.

“We are relaxed and confident that the PA-NFP partnership will win enough seats to govern on its own.”
